To R:BASE Community,

R:BASE Technologies would like to remind all users that with the
release of R:BASE eXtreme 9.0, there will be two separate versions
available, R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 (32) and R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 (64).

R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 (32) is available as an upgrade for 7.6, 7.5,
7.1, 6.5, etc. users, whose database files use the RB1-RB4 file
extensions. The other version, R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 (64), is
available to R:BASE Turbo V-8 users whose database files use the
RX1-RX4 file extensions.

The "32" and "64" portions of the names refer to the pointer sizes
in each product. A 32-bit file pointer is used for all RB1-RB4 files
while a 64-bit pointer is used for the RX1-RX4 files. Both versions
are 32-bit executables which will work on both 32-bit and 64-bit
processors and on both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.

The "eXtreme" in the product's namesake signifies the cutting-edge
development interface incorporated into the R:BASE program, making
database and application development even more productive.

Right now, R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 is available for purchase as a pre-
release beta, and has not yet been released. It will be officially
released when R:BASE Technologies is sure it lives up to our
stringent requirements and the expectations of the entire R:BASE
Community.
