Folks,
We still have one database that from day 1 has used * and ? as the wildcards. We have a need to SCONNECT to this database using Oterro 3.5 from another database that uses % and _ for the wildcards. I have long been under the impression that all databases involved had to use % and _. However, I tested the connection from the % and _ to the * and ? database and it appeared to be working fine. On the legacy database side, the wildcard settings did not change. My question is whether my impression that all MUST use % and _ is faulty, and what risks we might run by implementing a DSN-less connection as explained above. Like I noted, it worked, but my testing was quite limited. Emmitt Dove Manager, Converting Applications Development Evergreen Packaging, Inc.
