Not familiar with windows 7 but maybe , as a thought could you have an external form with a timer set that just refreshed a message or something ? perhaps it would see this as a wake up call

I have my computer set to go to sleep after 30 minutes. In Vista the computer would go to sleep 30 minutes after the reports had been completed (assuming nothing else was being done). In Windows 7 it seems that the important task of running my reports is not something that stops the sleep mode starting if I'm not doing anything else. Obviously, I can set the wait time to something that covers the likely timescale needed to complete all the reports but I know that I'll soon get fed up with changing and remembering to change it back afterwards. Does anybody have any clue whether there is a Windows setting that can be changed to make W7 realise that R:Base is far more important than sleeping? I have looked at the advanced settings for the sleep plans but nothing seems suitable. Thanks & regards, Alastair ---------------------------- Alastair Burr St. Albans, UK.
