some reason it doesn't like my full scanned document diretory var...

Try adding five other, made-up variable names to see if it is the number
of
variables in your .CAS file or if there is something about those
particular
variable names.

so use RStyle all the time and just this morning added these vars

in my local set up to the RStyle.cas tab.
As soon as I run RStyle, RBase disappears totally. So open RBase back up
and run RStyle and again RBase just disappears. I then opened the
RStyle.cas file in notepad, removed these vars, and then opened RBase, ran
RStyle and it works fine.
