I've never seen Median in R:BASE, but Average among other statistics given by
the special R:BASE COMMAND COMPUTE (that according to Gunnar Ekblad is not an
SQL-command). For example:

R>COMPUTE ALL income FROM bookkepptable

Count =             33
                   Rows =              55
                   Minimum =           461.
                   Maximum =       15395.72
                   Sum =           63189.72
                   Average =        1914.83999171402
                   Std Dev =        2585.32878410346
                   Variance =       6683924.92191387

Could some more statistical values be added to the COMPUTE command in the future
as an enhancement, things would be a little bit easier in quantitative research.

it.  :)
