Jim Are these updateable views? You can only use the UPDATE command on a view if the view represents a one table select, updating collumns that are the same as in the original table.
A workaround is to CREATE TEMP TABLE, load the table with the data from your views, and update the tables. The CREATE command worked fine and the views have only 5 to7 rows each. The common columns of the two views are CONTROL# &MODEL# When I go to UPDATE one view from the other I get the I/Oproblem and RBASE claims there are no rows to meet the criteria. UPDATE View_OrdRows SET Shipqty = T2.Totship FROM + View_OrdRows T1, View_OrdShip T2 WHERE T1.Control# =T2.Control# + AND T1.Model# = T2.Model# I got out of the database then in again and the same problemarose. It has been years since I had an I/O problem. Jim There is plenty of free space on the drive.
