I have used RBAdmin to kick users off and that is in Linux, if you were in
MS-Server you could send them a alert I recall.  It might help.

Yah, You are right.  I did that this morning, Kicked everyone out... 
7 dispatchers didn't like that. and I connected multi off, changed 
reloaded, and then let them in.  Better not do that again soon....

I did however make a  COPY of the table, made the required changes, 
and tested.  Seems that is the trick.
