The length of the portion I want to delete will vary but there will be many rows with the same amount starting at the beginning of the field. I might have 50 that I need to get rid of 10 characters then another set may have 100 where I need to get rid of 7. I will have a way to identify each group with another field in each row. I will be able to find each group with a WHERE clause.
