Dick,

You need to define a variable that represents linestatus, and use that in 
your eep instead of the column name.

variable:       vlinestatus = (linestatus)

EEP:

IF vlinestatus is NULL THEN
  PROPERTY idstatus VISIBLE  'FALSE'
ENDIF
RETURN
