The list view in V8 does behave differently than in 7.5. The assigned variable in V8 is "processed" even without clicking onto the list view object! This works just as I need. You were correct in your assessment. In 7.5, I have to click twice on the list view object to have the assigned variable processed. However, I will not have the app converted to V8 for some time, so I am not sure how to handle this at the moment. When the form is first called up, focus is set to a variable edit field. So to recap, the form is called up. The variable memo field reads "TEST ROW 1" which is related to the first row in the list view. The user clicks on the 5th row in the list view. The variable memo does not update and still reads "TEST ROW 1". The correct note will not display until the user either clicks a second time on the 5th row or clicks on another row. Then memo updates accordingly. I have On Entry and On Click EEPS in the List View to update the variable memo. However, it appears that the assigned variable to the list view does not get processed with either On Entry or On Click until the second mouse click. I tested by displaying the assigned variable on the form, and placed a RECALC VAR command both in the On Entry and On Click. When you first click into the list view, the assigned variable value does not change. On the second click, the variable then updates as expected. I need to find the variable value for the list view on the first click into the list view object...I.E. ON ENTRY. Although the ON ENTRY eep does fire, it seems that the assigned variable for the list view is not obtained at that time. Any suggestions? Thanks, -Bob
