To All Users of R:BASE Turbo V-8 and R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 (64):

In almost 13 years of R:BASE Technologies' accomplishments, the official
release of R:BASE Turbo V-8 on November 3, 2006 (Breaking the Limits)
was great news for our customers who were almost near to exceeding the
2GB limit on the database (.RB2) file in R:BASE 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x. The
majority of the R:BASE customers migrated to R:BASE Turbo V-8 for the
ease and peace of mind with the added features like long database
names, long table names, long index names, long variable names, and
long comments, etc., as itemized on:

R:BASE Turbo V-8 also allowed our customers to use their skills and the
ease of rapid application development environment for "other" databases
to save hundreds and thousands of dollars using the "all-in-one" true
relational DBMS. Today, a majority of our customers are using Turbo V-8
with over 2GB file sizes and well over 2GB file sizes in R:BASE eXtreme
9.0 (64).

Then, our lovely customers pushed the Turbo V-8 engine with expanded
indices (stored in .RX3) with database file sizes over 2GB. With the
data file (.RX2) size well over 2GB and index file (.RX3) size nearing
2GB, manipulation of the schema created an interesting scenario with
an I/O error when the .RX3 file size exceeded 2GB.

After extensive testing, in combination with a few replicable scenarios,
the resilient and talented R:BASE Development Team (R:Dream Team) was
able to find and fix the problem with the .RX3 file.

So, it is my pleasure to share this news with all users of R:BASE
Turbo V-8 and R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 (64).
