Larry: But remote desktop and things like gotomypc would be a one-on-one
solution. For every user wanting access, you'd have to have a separate
computer on the receiving end. That's what they don't want.

If you want multiple simultaneous connections (which I didn't understand from
the original post, probably from reading too fast) then you definitely do need
Terminal Server or some similar application (eg, Citrix). If you only want one
simultaneous session, even if it can originate from a variety of different PCs
(which is what I mistakenly thought you were looking for), then the various
hosted or direct remote control solutions will do the trick.

I've been separately corresponding with Bob Thompson because he is indirectly
involved with this client and he told me that Terminal Services is not a part
of XP, but rather a part of Microsoft Server.

When it supports multiple simultaneous users it's called Terminal Services
Server and yes, it's part of Windows Server. (Almost) the same product is
built into Windows, including XP, under the name Remote Desktop Connection or
something similar (they change the name slightly with each release of Windows).
It is essentially the same as Terminal Services Server but supports only a
single simultaneous connection, which may not meet your needs.

To see whether your XP computer has this feature turned on or not, go to My
Computer (right click) | Properties | Remote.

Once again, if you truly want multiple, simultaneous connections this is not
the solution for you.
