If you have RBasePluginPowerPack (if not a great tool!) and see how many
connections exist? Use the RFF that started this whole process, check the
count and return that value to the user (giving him a heads up about goofing
up!) then using a command kill the process's by the name of the compiled
exe.

I doubt you would have any problem with several rff's running on a tablet?
It sounds like the problem lies with too many RBase sessions (the actual
program with data) running when using a tablet. I have another program that
runs and it checks the count and destroys all of them and alerts the user to
his/her goof up and it moves on. I got tired of calls about how this other
program is a pos. So I have RBase monitor it! Very much the same. I
believe using a RFF could clear up a lot of this. I also think it's
possible to do it in 'On Connect' with some coding, but this is not tested
and I could not provide a sample.

Sincerely,
Paul D.

Just a note about multi sessions of RBase - 9.0 I am the worst and I have
witnesses! At any time I have at least two or more 9.0 running on one
screen (dual monitor) and a 7.6 or two running on another. I have been
doing this start May 97th '09 the beta release in a effort to corrupt 9.0
and couldn't! I am not sure of the limit but I have had eight or so 9.0's
running at once perhaps more but could not recall. I know stupid, but I was
busy comparing.

Manuel,

Razzak is of course correct. I run multiple sessions on my machine all
the time and it does not affect how many other users on other machines
can connect to RBASE (other than within the license limits).

I want to say that RBASE has been used by our company for the last 19
plus years and the only problem we usually have with it is my lack of
how to get the most out of RBASE. I only wish I had more time to become
an actual programmer so the company can squeeze RBASE for all its worth.

I appreciate the help I have received from this list, especially in the
last two years. You folks make me look good. Keep up the good work
RBASE team!

Jim

Manuel,

Where did you hear that? Have you checked it yourself?

Are you listening to a propaganda machine/group who has no idea
nor any knowledge about R:BASE, and are simply obsessed, with
nothing else to do, trying to spoil our party. We will NOT let
that happen. We have worked too hard to bring you the BEST of
R:BASE.

The best and most appropriate thing to do is test everything
yourself or post a question on this R:BASE list. OR contact one
of the members of R:BASE Consulting Group (with vested interest
in R:BASE) to learn and seek help about R:BASE eXtreme.

There is NO restriction to running any number of sessions of
R:BASE on the same computer (workstation), even having a
single-seat license.

FYI, the recent versions and updates of R:BASE 7.6, Turbo V-8,
and R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 (32/64) do allow the user to set the
R:BASE running as one session, if you select to do so.

R:BASE Main Window | Main Menu | Settings | Startup Options ...

[ ] Database Explorer
[ ] R> Prompt
[ ] R:BASE Editor
[ ] Maximize Main Window
[ ] Allow Only One Instance of R:BASE

Hope that helps and provides you with CORRECT information!

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
