Karen, I believe that ZIP and ZIP ROLLOUT apply mostly to the DOS versions. ZIP has been replaced with LAUNCH and ZIP ROLLOUT was used in DOS when there was not enough memory to run R:Base and the external program. RBTI: Congrats on the 9.0 syntax guide you just posted! Very nice! I also would love to see this as a downloadable PDF.... Just glancing thru some things, decided to see what the heck starts with a Z in the command index. I see that it has ZIP in there, which I've forgotten about since the days of doing mostly DOS stuff. However, in the description of using ZIP ROLLOUT, it says: "Under Windows this will also force R:BASE to release all "accumlated" memory that may not otherwise be released. " I know that more than a few people have problems where a fresh restart of RBase seems to fix things, and we've always guessed that it's some kind of memory thingy (or of course a bad program code thingy). So can a "zip rollout" help? Do you have to specify a program to run, like maybe a dummy .exe program? Karen
