I didn't think there was going to be a DOS version past 7.5 or 7.6. If
that is the case and you want the users to continue to work

1. You should upgrade to current DOS version then make sure the
code, forms, reports and labels work.

2. Then you would have to upgrade code to work with 7.6 windows
including creating all forms, reports, labels.

3. Then in theory you would be able to just upgrade them to 9.x

The other thing you could do is to leave them running DOS 4.5 and just
re-write everything for 9.x It may or may not be cheaper for the client
to do this way instead of buying R:Base DOS 7.x and R:Base 7.x and
R:Base 9.x. The other benefit would be cleaning up any garbage tables,
forms, reports and labels.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Upgrading a DOS version

Wow, just heard from a small client who's still on 4.5, and
he's considering upgrading to windows 9.0! We will probably
run DOS and windows side-by-side so he can slowly
migrate functions over. Do you think it's smarter to upgrade
his DOS to 6.5 rather than 7.x (9.x?) simply to help ensure
that the 4.5 code has a greater chance of running unchanged?
