Hello Gunnar, As I stated in my post, the upgrade is for "home users." I am currently using XP Professional SP3 as my main development computer and have no immediate need or interest to upgrade in the near future.
Having said that, I also have several other computers running Windows 98, XP, XP Media and Vista that I might consider upgrading. Eventually, I will move to Windows 7 for development...definitely the Professional Edition. I am US based so the keyboard is not an issue for me, and as far as the DOS versions of R:Base? I hardly ever use those anymore...that is why I keep an old WIN98 computer around...LOL. Javier I have no intention to argue with you?!?! But what ever you do, dont go for home, go for professional (my gut feeling)! If you are an international user dont go for vista or Windows 7, stay on XP (at least if you still need dos version of R:Base) since otherwise you will not have support for national keyboards any more! As for the parallel sale I think that is very sound suggestion! Microsoft will be having a special upgrade package from XP to Windows 7 for home users. For anyone that has been considering this option, this is a unique way to do it for a reasonable cost. http://www.networkworld.com/news/2010/090110-microsoft-revives-windows-7-fam ily.html?source=NWWNLE_nlt_daily_am_2010-09-02 Maybe R:azzak will have a parallel sale to bring users of older versions to the latest and greatest...
