HI, Bob, the strange thing is I can write and update directly in the tables. But when I try to do this from a form it locks up.

Not knowing if you are running domain etc., can you try logging onto each machine with the exact same user. I.E. If the user for the computer locking up also locks up on all other computers, it will most likely be that this user does not have write access to the database folder on the server. Hint being the update or saverow requires write access. If the same user works on one PC and not the other, then it probably is a Windows 7 setting. Unfortunately, I will not be of much assistance there. Try using the same user first and report back what that does. -Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: "Luc Delcoigne" <[email protected]> To: "RBASE-L Mailing List" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 2010 4:55:11 PM Subject: [RBASE-L] - re: strange lockup of r:base in network configuration Hi, I'm puzzled (again)... I am in the final phase of the development of a R:base application. When testing this application in stand-alone mode it works in a perfect way on every PC I installed it on. Furthermore I installed the RX files on a file-server. On this server R:base is NOT installed. When I run R:base on the 4 PC's and log in from these workstations to the database on the server (512 RAM Win XP), it works fine on 2 PC's out of 4. No problems on a 6GB RAm PC (WIN 7) nor on an older 512 MB RAM PC Win XP (although the application runs slower on this one). On two other PC's ( a recent 4 GB RAM Win 7 laptop and a 2 GB RAM Win 7 PC desktop) the program hangs everytime a Saverow or update command is issued or even everytime I want to exit a specific form. I suppose this must be a hardware problem as all is working well on the other 2 PC's. How can I make sure ? Could it be an incorrect regedit setting ? Or a table lock-up ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Luc D.
