A broader question is what constitutes the first week? If 1/1/xxxx falls on a friday, is that week one, even though (assuming Sun is day one of the week), or if it falls on Saturday, is that one day still week one?

since there are varying rules on this:

You will need to adopt a position on what is is...... ;-)

Jan,

R:azzak's solution is a good start; however, you will need to tweak it
depending on what you consider the first day of the week.. Outlook, for
example considers Sunday the first day of the week, where many business
would consider Monday instead. Also, if the year in question (1/1/xxxx)
starts on Tuesday, there will be no Monday on the first week of that year
and the Monday of that first week will indeed be the last Monday of the
previous year.if that makes a difference.

Dennis, Bill and Razzak,

Thanks for the input.
I think I was overcomplicating it.

Perhaps a better way of stating it would be;
Whatever .#DATE returns, I want to know what the date of the Monday in that
week was.

I'm playing with a variable.
So if it was Wednesday of this week it would be
Day 3 of week 49 and I would want to know
Day 1 of week 49 which would be today.

Jan,

What do you already have as column or variable data about the week of the
year? A date? A week number?

Group,

I'm looking for a combination of functions that will return
the date of a Monday in any week of the year.
