I’ve been using  BalanceTalk software to collect sample weights into my R:BASE
database in a laboratory setting and it has worked well for many years.  The
balance connects to the network computer with a RS232 cable.  We’ve been using
it since R:BASE 6.5.  I haven’t checked for any advances recently since it
continues to work perfectly.  You can find the software easily with an internet
search.

I work in a federal laboratory, so I may not be able to get into my work email
account next week if the furlough happens.  So if I don’t answer any further
questions, it’s because I haven’t seen them.  I’ll be back eventually!

I am developing a custom point of sale system and the clients would like to
have a scale connected similar to the grocery store. Has anyone every used a
scale as and input device for an R:base application? If so could you direct me
toward a manufacturer or place of purchase.

Thanks
