You can use login scripts to do that. I am using server 2003 but in the
domain user properties (use the management console - Active Directory Users
and Computers) there is a tab labeled profile and a place to enter the name
of a logon script. That can tell it to do what you want. Lots of freedom.

We run a scripting package called KIXSTART which is public domain and lets
you set up user ID based paths etc, maps drives, printers and whatever you
can think of.

THIS IS A COMMUNICATION FROM A DEBT COLLECTOR

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Help with Path on Windows 2008 Server and Windows XP
workstations.

Hi all,

I am trying to upgrade my Server from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008.

I want each of my Windows XP workstations that join the Domain to have the
same path designation. This will make it easier for me to make each machine
act the same when it starts and runs Rbase. However, I use the person's name
in the path so I can make some files that are user specific. For example, I
would like my path to be G:\rbase;G:\mike and have the path for Mary to be
G:\rbase;G:\mary

I can go to each workstation and force it, but I know there is someway to
make it happen when the workstation joins the domain.

Can anybody show me how that is done, or send me a link that shows how it is
done?

Mike
