Tip of the Day - Changing Report Variable Sections at Once
Product: R:BASE eXtreme 9.1 (32/64)
Update.: 3 (Maintenance Release)
Build..: 9.1.3.10428 or higher http://www.rupdates.com
Section: Report Designer (Expression Builder)
While in Report Designer, Expression Builder option allows you
to Add, Change, Delete, Change Order of expression(s). While
there, you may also define Global Variable(s), if you wish.
Report Designer | Main Menu | Variables | Add/Edit Variables ...
Each defined variable with appropriate data type must also be
assigned a correct band where the variable needs to be calculated.
Selecting the appropriate band from the list of "Calculate On:"
assigns the band where the corresponding variable will be
calculated. You may define as many variables as you wish.
What if you have hundreds of variables and you happen to add
a new band (new Break Header, new Break Footer) and now you
have to re-assign those hundreds of defined variables to be
calculated on a different band?
Traditionally, you would have to select/highlight the variables,
one at a time, then choose appropriate band from the list of
"Calculate On:", and finally click on [Change] button to
re-assign correct "Section".
Did you know that now you can select multiple variables from
the list of Variables (Click+Shift+Click or Click+Ctrl+Click),
choose appropriate band from the list of "Calculate On:", and
click on [Change] button to re-assign Section for all selected
variables at once?
Enjoy these cool and time saving development tips when using
R:BASE eXtreme 9.1 (32/64)!
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
