I was just wondering if, with Reports Designer, it is always necessary to double click on an object to select it 'properly'. I have found that if I just use one click (as in Forms Designer) I end up in a mode which results in the object being highlighted, with a grey outline, in which state it will move as soon as the mouse is moved without the mouse button being depressed.
'Previously' I thought that the mouse button had to be depressed to move an object which is the way Forms Designer operates. I was just wondering if my understanding is incorrect, if there is a setting I can change, or has something changed with R:Base ? The 'problem' I have is that I inadvertently move objects, which makes a bit of a mess of the report. For example if I select an object in a region (blue grips appear) and then single click on the region where there are no other objects, the first object is no longer selected but the region is now 'selected' (outline 'highlighted' but no grips visible) and will move as soon as I move the mouse. Similarly if I go from a selected region (blue grips) and then click on an object, the object has the grey outline and then moves with the mouse. (I also note that this doesn't happen all the time, as at times the blue grips appear when the object is clicked, at other times it goes straight to the highlighted outline.) I don't recall this happening until a few months ago, but then again maybe my memory is the problem. I would be interested to know if anyone has similar experiences with this. Thank you.
