Thanks for the feedback. I always drop temp tables with the OFF/ON error 
process then recreate. Learned that from this list. This problem pops up 
immediately after hitting a button to exit back to the primary screen. No 
specific rows are dropped and the problem occurs regardless of editing a field 
or not. At home, this form works perfect at least 10 times in a row on a WIN 7 
laptop with no hint of an 'I/O' issue. Move the exact same database to a XP Pro 
desktop and the 'I/O prob' comes up on the second try every time. At work this 
morning same XP results on our Network. I'll keep playing. The variable lookup 
listview will have to wait for the weekend.
