I am not in complete agreement with the relative ease of form variables vs in the onBeforeStart eep.
Once you have the EEP editor open, your variables are available for edit. I count 4 keystrokes to get to them vs 2 to get to the form level editor, but when the list gets to be greater than the display, it's a different ballgame. I guess I just like to see more at a glance on a busy form and it's a habit I embraced with 7.0 and never looked back. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael J. Not having the option to create variables while you are in the design mode seems very uncomfortable. I think I would rather design the form using a dummy table and then, if needed copy the form without the table to turn it into a variable form. I don't understand why the option of having that list is removed...it is very handy! Mike Sinclair PS: Would that be a reasonable enhancement request? ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: RBASE-L Mailing List <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, March 11, 2012 11:21 AM Subject: [RBASE-L] - Re: Enter using formname vs Edit using formname in 9.1 vs 9.5 Mike: You know what, I don't use variable forms very much... Know why? Because you can't define form variables (unless that has changed in 9.5). I know you can do them other ways, like on the form eeps, but call me old fashioned -- I love having the nice easy form variable list and definition screen. Problem solved.
