Tom,

This is only a shot in the dark only because I've had to fix a few forms
after the 3/17 update.
Also this goes back to a problem I had last March with slow access after an
update.

Do you have any forms with Variable List Views? I spent a long time last
year trying to find problems
that were really List View issues (of course I use a lot of them). For some
reason, sometimes
a Variable List View just blows up after an update. No rhyme or reason so
it's been difficult to
report to RBTI.

All I do is, when there is a problem, open the offending form, recreate the
listview from scratch
DO NOT COPY AND PASTE, resave and I'm back in business.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Extremely slow network system

We reset our network (MS Small Business 2003) over the weekend. This morning
the compiled database is extremely slow (5-10 secs to respond to a menu
item). Uncompiled backup versions on my computer and on the network moves as
fast as you can click a button. Checked the network info. It shows lots of
room with very minor performance blips until a user leaves the compiled
database then heavy network useage spikes and 30 seconds to close. Last week
the compiled performance varied from fast to significant delays for no
obvious reason which is what led to the network reset. Previous week
performance was very good. No viruses and other current network traffic
moves along as usual. Using v91 64 with latest updates. Compiler has forms
and reports loaded, allows one active version, and loads the engine. I have
not changed the startup in a long time because it just kept working. Any
suggestions?
