On this one computer, try logging in as a different user, reinstalling Acrobat, 
and running the program as the new user.

If the problem is specific to the original user, try reinstalling Acrobat on 
that account.  If that doesn't work, you may have to recreate the user account 
on the computer.

It is possible for the file associations to break specific to one user so that 
Windows can still open the file while ShellExec (the Windows call R:Base is 
using to launch the file) cannot.
