All:

Reinstallation was a simple matter of running the 9.1.5.20510 update download.

Immediately following reinstall:

1. [R-Click] on R:Base desktop icon

2. [Click] on "Norton File Insight"

 - Norton reports that filename: rbg91_64.exe and version: 9.1.5.20510 is an unknown factor.

3. Click on "Trust Now"

5. Click on "Check Trust"

- Norton cheerfully takes your word for it.

6. Restart the system

Notes: **********************

1. R:Base desktop icons had been 'blanked' to the generic Windows 'missing link' icon. Restart restored the R:Base icons.

2. Previous registrations/activations survived the experience.

3. R:Charts plugin activation had not been completed. Activation now completes without incident.

Hope it's helpful someday.

Bruce

All:

This posting is separate of the recent server-related posting.

Windows 7 Ultimate workstation
Norton Internet Security: Latest greatest
R:Base Extreme 9.1 (64) 9.1.5.20510
R:Charts 9.1 (64) Plugin

FYI: Norton AntiVirus "Sonar" without warning or over-ride option removed the R:Base executable from my system yesterday while R:Base was performing activation of the R:Charts plugin. (Update of the executable from 20410 to 20510 earlier in the day, and R:Base operations throughout the day were uneventful.)

"Gee. It never did THAT before."

I'll post the recovery and Norton re-configuration steps later.
