That seems to work most of the time, but it appears that when I use the F8 key to go down a row, sometimes the setting is switched back to INSERT ON. Is there a way to highlight all the characters within the field upon entering the field? If all the characters are highlighted then the overwrite always seems to work perfectly. Mike

Hi all, Is there a property or command that I can use inside an application or an eep that would have the affect of changing the typing mode from insert to overwrite or vice versa? There are times when the user is moving up and down within a scrolling region using the F7 and F8 keys and the field is only supposed to have 1 character, such as Y or N. To save key strokes, I would like to have the option of having the user hit just 1 key stroke, either Y or N to overwrite the current value rather than having to delete the current character and then type Y or N. Then, when they leave that field, I would like to switch back to the Insert method of typing. Is that possible? Thanks Mike
