In forms, where only two answers are possible, I generally use a check box. For Open or Closed, the checked value would be "C" and the unchecked value "O". I find this eliminates any possibility of user creativity. In that field, anyway. I did create one form where there were three check boxes and checking any one unchecked the other two using an On Click eep. .
