Actually, I think most of us can benefit if R:Base can work as a POP3 mail client just like Outlook.
Once we can have the incoming email content in R:Base table, the possibilities are just mind boggling. R:Mail already has done wonders in automating and keeping track of outgoing emails. If something similar can be done for the incoming emails, we can have full control over electronic correspondences, both incoming and outgoing. - James ----- Original Message ----- From: Michael J. One could use RBase to automate email account management, auto reply, collect files that come in as attachments and distribute them to employees....lots of cool options. Mike B: For me it would be first a matter of winnowing years of email down to just the really important stuff, stored and secured on my own server. Certainly Outlook can download from a MAPI source, but its slicing/dicing tools are limited. Just off the top 'o the head, I envision an application that draws and parses/deconstructs messages from the downloaded email store into a structured R:Base database where all fields are subject to searching and manipulation. An "R:Base-centric" application which performs the download itself would be icing on the cake. Just thinking. Can RBase do it natively? No. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bruce Chitiea" <[email protected]> To: "RBASE-L Mailing List" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, September 08, 2012 1:21 PM Subject: [RBASE-L] - RE: Can Rbase download emails ? TIA Mike
