Have you tried using the MapiMail4 Plugin, rather than the MapiMail3 Plugin?
The MapiMail4 Plugin is a MAPI E-Mail Plugin to send a message directly
through your email client program. The MapiMail4 Plugin does not open the
MapiMail dialog, nor your email client, and the email is automatically mailed.
