Fixed!
Sometimes its the little things that really mess you up.
I have 2 servers.
I only set the the permissions on \Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS folder on
one of the servers, and of course it was the other server that was hosting the
printer.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Problems printing from Rbase for DOS on Windows 7, part 2

Hi all,
Since I upgraded a workstation from XP to Windows 7, I am having trouble
printing from with Rbase for DOS to LPT3. Everything works normally if I am
logged in as an administrator, but I get an error message when I try to print
logged in as a regular (non admin) user.

LPT3 is redirected to a network printer as follows...

zip net use lpt3 /delete
zip net use lpt3 \\athena\labels

I have had this issue in the past. What worked before was...

While logged-in as an "Administrator", open the Printer Properties option, and
make sure to "Allow" the following "Permissions for Everyone".

. Print
. Manage this Printer
. Manage Documents

And

If your print server is Windows 2008R2 then on the server, check the
permissions on \Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS folder.
Users must have write permissions on this folder, this is not set by default.

For some reason, the above are not working, at least not for LPT3. I am able to
make it work for LPT1.

What am I forgetting to do?

Mike
