Just moved up to 9.5.
I'm having troubles with a command file that prints two reports.
The 2nd report is losing some of the variables it needs and I'm
getting error messages saying "Unrecognized global variables in
Expression." They were defined before the report printing started,
so I think the 1st report is clearing it somehow. In report designer,
there is a menu option that says "Clear Variables After Printing"
but I click on it and nothing happens. I thought it might be a
toggle switch, but the menu icon looks the same everytime I click
on it. Am I missing something?
Patti,
In addition to Mike Byerley's suggestions. you may want to look
into defining all required variables used in Report Expression
as "Before Generate" report action to assure the existence of
all variables.
Here's how ...
While in Report Designer
Main Menu | Report | Actions ... | Before Generate ...
-- Example
-- Before Generate EEP
SET VAR vSubNetAmount CURRENCY = 0.00
SET VAR vSubFreight CURRENCY = 0.00
SET VAR vSubTax CURRENCY = 0.00
SET VAR vSubInvoiceTotal CURRENCY = 0.00
SET VAR vGrandNetAmount CURRENCY = 0.00
SET VAR vGrandFreight CURRENCY = 0.00
SET VAR vGrandTax CURRENCY = 0.00
SET VAR vGrandInvoiceTotal CURRENCY = 0.00
RETURN
For a sample report that illustrates the use of such technique,
take a look at the sample "SubTotalsAndTotals" report included
with RRBYW18 database.
Hope that helps!
