Juan: this looks promising! Took some digging but it does say it's supported
on Windows 8 64-bit. Since it's open source, I think I'll try it unless
someone else has another suggestion.

Karen,

I did use Oracle VM VirtualBox and Windows 7 professional (32-bit) installed..
The DOS system work fine in this environment.

It is a option.
Good luck, Buena suerte!

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Running DOS in Win 8

I have an opportunity to convert an RBase 4.5 application to
windows. Woo hoo! I love converting these old systems!

Problem is, the laptop I use now has 64-bit windows 8 on it.
So far, I haven't had to touch DOS so it hasn't been a problem.
I would sure love to do the conversion on this laptop and not have
to fire up my backup XP computer.

I know I could research this, but I'll try the lazy way first. Does
anyone here have some recommendations of the best way to
run RBase DOS on this OS?

Thanks for the ideas!

Karen
