The behavior seems to exist with a single row of data as well. I have a form with both a time and date picker on it to edit time and date fields (EDIT using form WHERE condition exists) and unless one actually enters a field, the row will not accept input from the either object. I had a scrolling region originally, but to simplify the appearance, I used a single row with F8 and F7 buttons to move around, and the behavior was the same. At least I am not alone, but not critical for my simple application.

Jan,

That explains what I have experienced as well.

After chiming in, I tested my scrolling region and found that is the
case.

Left to right, highlighted.

Row to row, sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Thanks for the explanation.

Phillip,

I believe that this is the way scrolling regions work in 9.5

Hoping Razzak will chime in if I'm wrong (he will).

When you use F8 or F9 to move between rows, you are

not leaving the field even though you are in a different row

so AUTOSELECT doesn't work.

AUTOSELECT does work when moving left/right or right/left

within the same row.

Thanks. Autoselect is already selected for my field. When I
open the form, first field is completely selected. If I press [F8], I
am advanced to the next row, nothing is highlighted and the cursor is in
front of the field. If I press [F8], I am advanced to the next row and,
this time, the entire field's contents are highlighted. The occurs for
each [F8] I press till I get to bottom. If I press [F7], I am advanced
back a row and the entire field is highlighted till I get the first row
displayed and again, nothing is highlighted and the cursor is setting in
front of the field's contents. Any ideas?

        Phillip,

From the HELP for form properties:

        Autoselect

Specifies that entire field will be selected (highlighted) when
user
        lands on this

I believe this is the answer you are looking for.

In the form field, right click then go to the properties tab.

Near the bottom under the Attributes make sure you check the
autoselect
        box.

As RAZZAK says, that's all there is to it!

We converted a test database form 7.6 to 9.5. In 7.6, when the
user is
in a scrolling region in a form, if they press [F8] to advance
to the
next row, the contents of the focused field is completely
selected
allowing them to press [Delete] if they wish to clear the
field's
contents. In 9.5, this does not occur. Is there a setting that
controls this? If so, can someone tell us where to find it and
set it
so that we get the functionality we are expecting?

        Thank you very much,
