Armin,

Looks like you want a photo booth.

I designed a fairly complete photo booth application for my granddaughter's
birthday a couple of years ago, using R:Base 9.1, and a video display/photo
capture DLL that another member generously provided. It does the countdown,
displays each photo as it taken and prints photo strips. I used a Logitech
C920 web cam and a small Canon Selphy dye-sub printer. It worked great, and
my granddaughter was delighted.

Since then I built a full photo booth for my daughter's wedding and moved up
to Canon S5 and DSLRs cameras and professional dye sublimation printers,
and now I do this as a sideline. I like web cameras since they have no
moving parts and are designed from the beginning to work with computers;
however, the bigger DSLR have much bigger and better lenses, better
resolution and more importantly, they can trigger a flash, something that
web cameras cannot do so far and it is a must for professional photo booths.

There are lots of options available, software-wise, that are reasonably
priced and you can always use R:Base as well. I might go back and
review/upgrade my R:base application to incorporate the latest features. I
had originally planned to market it as a one-time use to brides that want to
assemble their own photo booths and I might look into this market as well,
although the photo booth market is getting pretty crowded here.

I am not sure if I can post my photo booth web site here, but if you or
anyone else is interested and/or need additional information, you can always
e-mail me privately.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - R:Snap ?

 Hi list

I'm looking for a dll to make a snapshot by the webcam.

There is given in R:Base application:
- Name of the picture
- pathname where to be saved
- button with caption 'take picture'

dll has to do:
- count down  3 - 2 - 1    -> picture is taken
- save picture
- say 'done'

Has anybody such a simple dll to do this?
Actually I realize this by means of www.webcamyou.com, but not really
satisfying.

Best regards
Armin
