That is a great saying!

And, it is easy to create an endless loop with WHILE also!
You can also write some really horrendous code by trying to be religious about 
theory.

Every language has its strengths and limitations.
The style of coding must be tailored to play to the strengths and avoid the 
limitations.

One of the most important things is readability.
If 5 lines of code is more understandable than one, regardless of how elegant 
and clever that one line is, then 5 lines it is!
I keep telling myself that, since I come from the time when compact code was 
most important!

I am aware this a bit theoretical discussion.
But one of my favorit sayings is: Theory without practice  is for the genious 
and practice without theory is for the idiots.
