We use R:Mail 95 and use it extensively.

On April 1 everything stopped.

Take a close look at the R:Mail Log File.
In addition ...
How about TRACing that block of code, using the full version of R:BASE eXtreme
9.5 (64) and then capturing the -ERROR- message related to any parameter used?
