Customers do on-line registration for complicated events, renew memberships, and can generate all their own printouts. XML messages from another web site send it address and phone number changes. Office staff using R:BASE see the data immediately, and don't have to do any of the input themselves. I'm sure the same things can be done now with RBTI's R:Web Suite and R:Web Reports and R:Web Gateway, but they didn't exist yet when I started the web project 12 years ago.
