Duh...
As an R:Base user for 27 years, I have never used a group box.
Therefore this question is not as dumb as it sounds.
What do you use one for?
Dick,
Technically, the Group Box or Enhanced Group Box control in Form
Designer is used to place multiple control objects that can be
used within a container for grouping.
Any control placed within a container (Group Box or Enhanced Group
Box) will inherit the properties of container. If you wish, you may
also customize the properties of any given control placed within
the container as well.
Typically, you use group boxes to subdivide a form by function. For
example, you may have an order form that specifies mailing options
such as which overnight carrier to use. Grouping all options in a
group box gives the user a logical visual cue.
The Group Box control is similar to the Panel control; however, only
the Group Box control displays a caption.
Depending on the application or your specific need, there are many
cool options to take advantage of using Enhanced Group Box in R:BASE
eXtreme 9.5.
Hope that helps!
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
