Good afternoon: We are now working full time with eXtreme 9.5 64. Not sure if it's coincidental with other internal network issues, but my users are asking (complaining?) why the new R:BASE seems to run slower than Turbo V-8.
I have reviewed the various network topics in the Help System. I don't see many appropriate options for tweaking the system. Our primary database has over 600 tables and the RX2 file is 6.4GB+ along with a ~2GB RX3 file. The database is used predominantly for ad hoc queries and studies. We might typically have anywhere from 10 to 20 users connected at a given time. It's a Windows Server network. Computers are a mix of older Windows XP machines and some newer Windows 7 32- and 64-bit machines. Any special considerations or thoughts on what can be done to improve performance? Interrupting a BROWSE command: If ESCAPE is set to ON will using either the [Esc] key or Ctrl-Break work if a user is executing an especially slow-running and/or complex query through the data browser? Or does [Esc] / Ctrl-Break only work at the R> for SELECT statements? Thanks for any suggestions.
