I am refining my database and have a question about a form. I have
a table of inventory with a primary key item number. For a sale I
create a form with a temp table and select the data based on the
item number using the variables in the form(each column from the
inventory table where item number = item number. I have been using
this for years and works great, but, would it be better, faster, etc
is I populated the columns using the select command. Just wondering
Tom,
There is always a better technique in doing anything today. That
is just the nature of evolution, and if you would like to keep
your application on top, use what R:BASE has to offer today.
There are soooo many coool options and techniques ...
If your goal is to simply display and reveal all related items
based on an item in a table with Primary Key, you can define a
variable form with Variable Lookup ListView controls to achieve
your goal.
However, to create a new Sales Order, take a look at the entire
process and techniques used in "Enter New Sales Order" in the
sample RRBYW18 database/application.
Hope that helps!
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
