When you compile your exe you have the choice of whether to embed your DLLs or not. I don't know what's preferred and more error-proof. I know there's a problem if you don't embed and it finds different DLLs on the current workstation than the ones it found when you compiled. Does that make sense?

If you've embedded the DLLs, or if you haven't but they're still around, can you try temporarily bringing that compiled app back in to see if you have problems? You never know, something might have changed so that even the last compiled app would now also have the same issues. That would be a big clue. If I remember correctly I designed it so it would run one time, allow you to reset your network connection (wired to wireless in my case) and then run again and compare the results. You can run it once, let it rest for a while and then run the second part. James Belisle Making Information Systems People Friendly Since 1990 It looks like a network response issue where the local workstation loses contact with the server (power savings) and has to reconnect. 1) Are you getting this error in all workstations or is it restricted to a few or maybe even one? 2) What is the database setup, i.e. is the compiled application loaded in every workstation or is it located on the server? 3) Do the workstation have enough memory to handle the fully loaded (with forms and reports) compiled application? 4) Have you tried compiling just the start up file and leaving forms and reports off the compiled application and only in the database? 5) Is this restricted to one operating system, say Win 7? 6) What is your network configuration? 7) Is transmission speed OK? I believe I sent you a R:Base based application that tests the network speed, have you tried lately? 8) How you had any upgrades (windows) recently? 9) What are your power saving settings, particularly the network settings? 10) Are there any other application showing similar symptoms? The items above should give you a start on locating the cause of your problem. We are using the latest 9.5 update. I updated the compiler at the same time. I compiled the DB after the updates. I have all forms and reports compiled within the EXE. I just did a reload over the weekend. In reality though, the DB is working because if I do not touch anything, eventually the form comes up as it should. This is a relatively new problem. In the past, this would happen once in a while (like once a week, maybe). Now this happens daily (throughout the day) and in most forms. It is not limited to one form.
