Rehan,
From time to time, everyone comes up with an idea for something they'd
like R:BASE to do differently. If you come across an idea that you think
might make a nice enhancement, your input is always welcome.
Please submit your suggestion and/or enhancement request to the R:BASE
Developers' Corner Crew (R:DCC) and describe your request. In R:BASE,
the R:DCC Client is fully integrated to communicate with the R:BASE
development team.
From the main Menu Bar, choose "Help" > "RBG9 R:DCC Client". If you do
not have a login profile, select "New User" to create one.
If you have a sample you wish to provide, have the files prepared within
a zip archive prior to initiating the request. You will be prompted to
upload any attachments during the submission process.
Best regards,
John Minyo II

Set Keymap will just remap the desired function key to a new user defined
combination keys, like F2 to Alt+S,F3 to Ctrl+W. we can't associate any
function or procedure with it when desired key or combination keys pressed.
As described by MikeB, apparently it seems, there is no way to trap a key
at the form level.
It could be done simply, if, R:base technologies just add a "On Press Key"
event into form properties.
It will be very helpful for a good professional level application
development becoz most of the application development tools provide this
facility.

You can try playing with the SET KEYMAP command but I am not sure it will

solution from someone.

I may be wrong, but I think you will wind up chasing your tail on this one.
I would recommend using buttons to give the user the functionality that
you want.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - How to trap function keys in a form
Can anyone help, how to trap function keys like F1,F2,F3,... in a form?
My basic idea is to run a user defined form action or call another form
when a application user press a specific function key in the form.
In other words, I want to over ride the built-in functionality of function
keys provided by R:Base.
