I understand that, which is the way I have been doing it. My new approach is to use an external form and form action to connect database, enter id, and do what needs to be done. One of my buttons needs to be able to run multiple sessions, which in the past I used launch, then ask for id. Can the id entered in the external form be passed to the new session launched by a button. Tom Hart

Any variable(s) defined in External Form will be retained throughout the R:BASE session as long as that variable is not cleared in any subsequent forms.
