Check to see if you have that column in other tables. R> Lis column columnname
You might not be seeing the error message because error messages might be turned off. I'd like to change it to Real. I have been trying to do it through Explorer but it won't save after I have made the change. So, I assume it doesn't want to do it for some reason.
