My system is working fine, this is more of a theoretical question

Another way to state the question is :

"Does two DSN's using the same ODBC driver save resources over two
DSN's using two different drivers?"
Does/can the ODBC manager share any resources for a loaded ODBC
driver if it is used in multiple DSN's?
Probably not, but I was curious.

Again, no problem here, more of a curious question.

Consistency!

Using the Oterro driver, you will always be consistent with both
scenarios.

FWIW, in my development environment when connecting or migrating
data, I ALWAYS use Oterro 9.5 (64) driver. Yes, I know better!

If it helps to answer your curiosity ...

In my current MONSTER R:BASE 9.5 (64) application project, we are
using Oterro 9.5 (64) driver when consolidating and integrating
"80+" individual R:BASE databases from various business entities
and specific functionality database/applications into one MONSTER
R:BASE database.

That is a smooth and so eloquent data migration and consolidation
approach that we have developed over the years.

Latest bug fixes and major enhancements in Oterro 9.5 (64) are
simply the result of my personal involvement with such project.

That should provide you with some blue's clues ...

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
