The format of the date value is yyyymmdd In case the column is null I have to print 00000000 (8 times zero). I have tried to set the null value for this field in the report to 00000000 and also to 0. In both cases the date is printed as 18991230 Has anybody a brainwave for a solution of this problem Tony
