Is there a way to display a message for 2 seconds and not give the user

Orange.
Bill,
Technically, PAUSE commands are simulated Windows Message Boxes with an
[x] button along with all customized OPTIONs for R:BASE.
In your very specific situation, I suggest to design a universal PAUSE
looking "variable form" with global variables to capture the text, etc.,
and then use the "PAUSE FOR 2" command as "On After Start EEP" to close
the form automatically after 2 seconds.
While in form designer, you will need to un-check all options for
"Caption Buttons" and check the option for Disable [x] Caption Button,
[Alt+F4] and [Esc] Key Combination.
Form Properties | Dynamic Caption ...
[ ] Minimize Button
[ ] Maximize Button
[ ] Close Button
[ ] System Menu
[ ] Roll-Up Button
[x] Disable [x] Caption Button, [Alt+F4] and [Esc] Key Combination
[ ] Disable Trace
On After Start EEP:
PAUSE FOR 2
CLOSEWINDOW
RETURN
That should provide you with a universal variable form to customize all
messages as well as colors as you see fit.
If you need a sample form to illustrate the use of such cool feature to
simulate customized PAUSE commands, please feel free to reach out to me.
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
