I hate when I hear this stuff.... Converting a DOS system to Windows 9.5, 32 bit. It's all going really well so far, but we hit a regional form that is used in "enter" mode. In DOS, as they hit [enter] from the end of the row to go to the new row, it instantaneously puts them into the new row. In windows, it takes a full 8 seconds before they are put into a new row (witnessed it with my own eyes). Well, as long as they are multi-user. If they happen to get the database single-user then it's instant. So they're keeping this DOS app around until I can "fix" it. There's a bunch of #DUP in the form, but I removed all of them to see if it made a difference, but it didn't. It's based on a permanent table, any experience that a temp table would work quicker for entry? Or because the multi-user is an issue, do I just tell the client "sorry it's not me, it's your network"? Karen
